I have so many memories of the glorious sunrises and sunsets over the Isles of Scilly. Rather than paint another sunset in my usual semi-realism style it was great fun to be more expressive with this piece.

The painting went on to win the Member’s Prize in the Shropshire Art Society’s Summer Exhibition 2026.
